This bug is not *obviously* known to dask upstream, but their CI is
failing and I haven't checked why.

It happens only in Python 3.12, not 3.11:

This suggests that the trigger may be the upgrade of Python itself
(3.12.2-1 in testing -> 3.12.3-1 in unstable).
